01 · OVERVIEW

What is StoreDrive?

What the project does

StoreDrive explores a personal cloud/media dashboard concept. Users can authenticate, manage uploaded media and play supported content in the browser through organized media interfaces.

How it benefits the user/business

  • Brings different personal media types into one interface.
  • Provides user-specific upload and deletion workflows.
  • Supports browser playback for supported media.
  • Demonstrates file-handling and authenticated Django application structure.

Platform & environment

Django web application using Python, SQLite for development, media/static storage and browser-side playback.

04 · BACKEND

What role does the backend play?

The backend/application layer is responsible for connecting the interface to the project's data, business logic and user workflows.

  • Authentication ensures media workflows are connected to a user context.
  • Django views receive upload/delete requests and connect them to stored media.
  • Media processing uses libraries such as Pillow and Mutagen where required.
  • The backend provides the file-management layer behind the visual media dashboard.
05 · USAGE

How is it used?

A user signs in, opens a media category, uploads or removes files, and plays compatible content directly in the browser.

Project maturity: Substantial. The purpose of this page is to explain the implementation that exists in the repository, while keeping production-readiness claims separate.
06 · LIMITATIONS

Current boundaries

The current implementation is a personal/development media platform. A production cloud drive would need object storage, access-control hardening, quotas, background processing, scalable delivery and stronger file validation.
