04 · BACKEND

What role does the backend play?

The backend/application layer is responsible for connecting the interface to the project's data, business logic and user workflows.

  • Bike, user and booking data are persisted through the Flask backend and database layer.
  • Backend calculations support rental duration and booking information.
  • Administrative routes manage bikes, users and bookings.
  • The invoice/confirmation flow depends on backend booking records.
05 · USAGE

How is it used?

A customer registers, browses bikes, opens a bike profile, chooses a rental period, creates a booking and reaches confirmation/invoice screens.

Project maturity: Substantial Prototype. The purpose of this page is to explain the implementation that exists in the repository, while keeping production-readiness claims separate.
06 · LIMITATIONS

Current boundaries

The current project includes payment-related fields/UI rather than a production payment gateway. Identity documents and payment information would require secure storage and a compliant provider in a real deployment.
